10th August 2010: SBEM Technical manual updated to incorporate the 2010 Building Regulations
The SBEM technical manual for the 2010 building regulations has now been updated and is available to download from http://www.2010ncm.bre.co.uk/
The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) 2002/91/EC of the European Parliament and Council (dated 16 December 2002) calls on each EU Member State to promote the improvement of energy efficiency of buildings, by laying down standards, assessing performance on a consistent basis, and providing certificates for the majority of buildings so that this performance is communicated effectively.
Some of the key changes from the previous version of the manual include
- New building types and activity types from the 2010 NCM Activity Database
- Updated table of default psi values for thermal bridging junctions in iSBEM
- Updated lighting energy calculation
- Updated auxiliary energy calculation
